Conversations

Jack might have been a late talker, but he has made up for that by being an incredibly prolific one now. There isn't a word he won't repeat (much to his parents' chagrin) and tuck away for use at a later date. But just recently has he begun to actually converse with us. I was struck this weekend when I took Jack and Charlie dog for a walk and Jack looked back at me from his stroller and said "nice day mommy." It's one thing to have your child point out objective facts, like flag. flower. when he sees a flag with a flower on it. It's quite another to have him utter subjective observations about daily life. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. It makes him seem so ... old.
