The first day, Jack was so tuckered out, he plopped himself down in the goal net and tried to take a nap. Seriously.

Apart from one evening when he totally participated and did everything the coaches told him to do, Jack spent every Wednesday running up and down the sidelines with Charlie. Ah well, at least it got us out of the house at 5:00 on Wednesdays.
This is the closest we came to participating in "group" activities...
This picture was taken the day that they actually both played on the field with the rest of the kids. Here they are taking a break soccer-style...

The highlight, for the kids as much as the parents, was the impromptu pizza party we had after each practice.

We have had much better luck with swimming. I organized a small group of his friends to take lessons at the pool this fall, not so much because he needs instruction but because I knew it would force me to get him in the water once a week which was one of my goals for the "off-season."

They are all having a blast and Jack is now not only swimming, he is able to take a breath and keep going. He also swims freestyle (arms flailing like windmills). It is hysterical.
